Solange Finally Opened Up About ‘That Thing’ With Jay Z At The Met Gala

Solange Knowles was interviewed by Lucky Magazine, and did you know she was a teen mom? She’s twenty-eight and has a nine-year-old son named Julez. I never knew that Beyonce was an aunt. Anyway, among other topics of conversation, the interviewer asked her about the incident with Jay Z in the elevator at the Met Ball, and — while she didn’t go all “Solange on her ass” for bringing it up (too soon?) — she remained tight-lipped, focusing on the positive:

It’s a subject she expects in conversation but one she doesn’t want to focus on. She calls the incident “that thing.” “What’s important is that my family and I are all good,” she says. “What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that.”

She is happy to discuss the values her parents taught both of their daughters: hard work along with unconditional love and support for each other. “We’ve always held each other down no matter what,” she says. “That’s something I’m drilling into Julez now.”

In other words, no: It looks like we’ll sadly never know what happened that night to provoke Solange Knowles to attack Jay-Z in that elevator, whether it was because of booze, infidelity, or whatever else, it’s between the three of them and their maker. And probably a few personal assistants, stylists and publicists, too. (Won’t somebody pleeeeeease write a tell all book???)
