This Footage Of A Simulated Shark Attack Should Keep You Out Of The Ocean For Good

If history has taught us anything, it’s that the ocean is a giant liquid-filled hell pit that is loaded with monsters. But some people still stubbornly insist on trifling with it, so allow me to provide even more evidence. This is a video put together by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute that uses an autonomous underwater camera called a Remus to capture a simulated shark attack. It starts slow, but if you stick around until about the 1:25 mark you’ll OH HOLY SH*T WHERE DID HE COME FROM OH GOD MY HEART IT STOPPED SOMEONE HELP BRING THE PADDLES.

Or, if you’re incredibly short on time and don’t have 90 seconds to watch the video, allow me to tell the story in two GIFs.

Yup. Stay out of the ocean, people. It ain’t safe down there.
