We’ve all had the singularly pleasurable experience of watching something with our parents or grandparents that made us completely uncomfortable. More times than not, that awkward viewing experience is induced by some graphic sex scenes. Well, you don’t get much more graphic than Fifty Shades of Grey. If you were debating on whether or not to take your sweet ol’ grandma to see Christian Grey and his red room of pain, this video should make that decision a bit easier.
YouTube stars The Fine Brothers created a new video for their series “Elders React” and invited ten naive senior citizens to sit down and watch a trailer for the new film. It’s obvious the old folks didn’t know what the movie would be about until the clip started to roll but their reactions to seeing a naked Dakota Johnson tied up and teased by Jamie Dornan were exactly what you would expect. From commenting on Dornan’s “hypnotic eyes” to shouts of shock when the elevator scene came onto the screen and one participant asking the question “What kind of man are you?” after Dornan utters his infamous line about not “doing romance,” watching these old people view the admittedly tame trailer is pretty entertaining.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. After having to endure the movie’s trailer, the poor old timers were forced to read some erotic scenes straight the books. Getting grandpa to read a snippet detailing fellatio is a bit harder than you’d think, but the elderly volunteers were good sports about their site reading test and most even admitted to planning on seeing the film. As they say, “sex is a powerful thing, it’s even more powerful than YouTube.”
