A Washington DC Teacher Was Arrested On Her First Day For Having Sex With A Student

Another day, another THREE news stories about teachers sleeping with their underage students. Earlier today, my scholastic colleague Josh Kurp covered the story about the Texas teacher who allegedly had a summer-long affair with one of her male students, while Megan Mahoney, a once-celebrated high school athlete who became an assistant basketball coach at a Staten Island Catholic high school, is also accused of sleeping with a male teenager. But the teacher that really took the cake today is a 22-year old Washington DC substitute named Symone Greene, who was on the job less than one day before she allegedly had sex with a 17-year old student.

It gets worse, too. Unlike the boy who was at the center of Louisiana’s most famous teacher scandal, this teen didn’t seem too sorry. In fact, the reports suggest that he knew exactly what he was doing every step of the way, from playfully flirting and giving Greene his number to asking her if she was kinky, recording their entire affair on video and then allegedly sharing it with his classmates at Options Public Charter School.

NBC Washington’s Mark Segraves had quite the afternoon on Twitter, describing the details of this specific case.

Innocent or guilty, that’s a hell of a story for your first day at school.
