MTV Reality Star Diem Brown Loses Her Battle With Cancer At 32

MTV reality star Diem Brown lost her battle with cancer today. She was 32.

Brown, who gained fame thanks to appearances on MTV’s The Real World/Road Rules Challenge, was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2003 and then again in 2012. She documented her fight against the disease in a blog for People and through social media.

In August of this year, Brown collapsed while filming the eighth MTV challenge in Panama and was airlifted to a New York City Hospital where she was diagnosed with colon cancer and went through two surgeries in an attempt to remove the tumor. The reality star and entertainment reporter remained positive throughout her diagnosis, taking to Twitter to update her fans and ask for their support:

This week, after experiencing setbacks in her chemo treatments a photo was posted to Instagram, asking friends to send prayers to the star, whose condition was worsening.

MTV released a statement earlier today expressing their condolences to Brown’s family and friends:

MTV is tremendously sad to hear the news that Diem Brown has lost her long battle with cancer. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Diem was a true fighter and brought passion to everything she touched. We will miss her.
