Richard Linklater Celebrated 30 Years Meat-Free With A ‘Boyhood’ Parody Called ‘Veghood’

In 1985, Richard Linklater decided to stop eating meat. Over the next 30 years, he made YouTube (and animal rights) history with Veghood.

In only one year of not eating meat, Linklater claims he saved as many as 100 animals. By those calculations, 30 years of not eating meat saved 3,000 animals. Presumably, all 3,000 of those happy animals live on a farm in Texas together, chowing down on the “bigger vegetables” and “bigger fruit” that Linklater now enjoys eating instead of animals.

Cue music.
