The Strange Story Of The Naked Female Spring Breaker Who Went ‘Missing’

Two weeks ago, a photo of a topless woman on a beach in Panama City, Fla. went viral on Twitter. She can be seen surrounded by dude-bros and male nipples, and the police feared for her safety; not only because she appeared to be underage, but also because they couldn’t locate her.

When speaking to the Panama City News Herald, Bay County Sheriff Office spokesperson Ruth Corley said, “We want to make sure she is okay, check her well-being, and make sure the pictures were consensual.” Anyone with information about the spring breaker was asked to call Crime Stoppers. Turns out, the woman pictured, who’s 17, found herself.

The 17-year-old female became aware through the media that her identity was sought, contacted the BCSO on Friday and spoke with investigators. The BCSO requested law enforcement in the same city the girl lives in to make contact with her; they verified her claim to be the girl in the photo. (Via)

The News Herald reports that “her behavior and interaction with the crowd was consensual, and she is safe,” but she didn’t realize that someone took a photo of her.

Meanwhile, spring break continues to be the worst.
