This Mesa Shooting Victim Shared A Picture Of His Gunshot Wound On Snapchat

In the midst of Wednesday’s shooting spree in Mesa, one of the victims took a selfie of his gunshot wound and shared it on Snapchat.

Isaac Martinez was shot after Ryan E. Giroux allegedly demanded the keys to his car, and Martinez refused to hand them over. The picture shows Martinez’s shoulder and his white uniform from Bistro 13, soaked with blood, with a caption reading, “I just got shot…”

A short time later, Martinez was taken to the hospital where he posted more updates on Facebook, including a second selfie of his bare shoulder wound:

“So im home and well! I have no complicated injuries and should heal fine,” Martinez’s Facebook posts says. “I had a bullet hit me from behind and go through my shoulder and out my coller area. Any higher or lower it coulda hit a artery, or shatter my shoulder blade. It was a miracle hit.”

Personally, I have absolutely no problem with it. Martinez stood up to a violent shooter. He refused to hand over the keys to his vehicle and potentially slowed down Giroux’s getaway. Good for him, and thankfully, he was not injured more seriously. Besides that, social media is one of the quickest ways to communicate with a lot of people, and posting pictures on Snapchat and Facebook was probably the most efficient way to let his family and friends know that he was okay.
