Joel Burger and Ashley King have known each other since kindergarten, and after a lifetime of jokes, they’re finally doing it: They’re having a Burger-King wedding. The State Journal-Register reports that the New Berlin, Ill. couple are getting married in July in Jacksonville, Fla., where Burger King began. Once the fast food chain read about Joel and Ashley, they knew they had to help out because one couple’s love is another franchise’s branding opportunity.
The company is paying the expenses and providing gifts for the July 17 wedding of Joel and Ashley in Jacksonville, a.k.a. the Burger-King nuptials.
“When we heard about the happy, Burger-King couple, we felt an overwhelming urge to celebrate their upcoming marriage,” said Eric Hirschhorn, Burger King Brand spokesman. “On so many levels it felt like fate; they found each other and their story found us.” (Via)
