An Escaped Pig Wreaked Havoc At A Pennsylvania Burger King And Bit A Customer

On Thursday morning, a Burger King in Ferrellton, Penn. — which is about 70 miles east of Pittsburgh — got an unexpected surprise when an errant pig staged a one-pig protest outside their doors. Well, it was either a radical militant pig or possibly a cannibal pig trying to get first in line for a Sausage, Egg & Cheese CROISSAN’WICH®.

In either case, it made for quite the exciting morning for the employees and customers of the Ferrellton Burger King, as reported by Pittsburgh’s WTAE4 News:

“I came around the corner around 5 a.m. behind us. I saw a black pig just sitting behind our door. I wasn’t sure what it was. I was kind of scared. I got up and I realized it was a pig,” [Burger King employee] JJ Nichols said. “I was beating on the back door, yelling for a manager, and he was like, ‘I’m not opening the door! Come around the side!'”

State police said the pig bit a female customer, who refused treatment.

“I watched it happen right here. It was crazy. The pig was really friendly. She was like, ‘Hey!’ And the pig just kind of walked up to her and bit her right on the foot,” Nichols said.

The pig ended up being someone’s pet, which had escaped and wandered down the road. State police were eventually able to reunite the pig with its owners. So, just think about that when you’re having a bad day. At least you’re not a state police officer in rural Pennsylvania, where an exciting day on the job means pig wrangling.
