Meet The Fisherman Who Learned Not To Mess With Sea Lions

A man enjoying a fishing expedition in Mission Bay, California learned a difficult lesson this weekend: Never pose with a fish if a hungry sea lion is swimming nearby. Why? Because it will do anything for food — especially freshly-caught fish.

Like biting and dragging said fisherman to the bottom of the ocean for the fish he was holding:

A sea lion leaped out of the water onto the boat railing and, while attempting to snatch the large fish, bit the man, pulling him into the water, according to the lifeguards.

The fisherman was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for shock and numerous cuts he sustained during his descent. Sure, he almost drowned to death at the flippers of one of nature’s cutest killers, but at least he has the best fishing story for miles.
