As you can see in the amazing video above, an explosion in Buffalo that was caused by an underground electrical fire launched a manhole cover high into the air during an on-camera interview by WGRZ 2 journalist Dave Harrington.
In case you’re wondering, a manhole cover can weigh up to 300 pounds. Imagine the damage that one could do if it plummeted from a few hundred feet up. Imagine the amount of force that it would take to launch something that heavy that high into the air. Thankfully, police evacuated the intersection and two nearby buildings at the first sign of trouble, so no one was hurt.
