Who Knew Shouting ‘English Only’ At A Bilingual Kindergarten Concert Would Get You Tossed?

Your 5-year-old son, daughter, brother, sister or other familial relation takes the stage for the Kindergarten class’ big number at the end of the show. You’re excited because it’s almost over, but mainly because you’re proud. And then it happens: Some jackass behind you trips back to his first Grateful Dead concert and begins shouting obscenities. What could possibly be worse?

I don’t know, maybe the physical embodiment of a South Park character shouting “English only! USA!” at the Spanish-speaking teacher on stage. In the video posted to Reddit, a mustachioed, bespectacled gentleman is seen (and heard) airing his linguistic grievances with the bilingual presentation.

He probably doesn’t realize that, according to a 2013 U.S. Census report, more than 37 million Americans speak Spanish at home on a regular basis. Sounds like someone needs to repeat Kindergarten.
