Mad Max: Fury Road had a strong presence at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. At one point during the movie’s panel, the moderator threw it to the audience for questions and the first person to stand up and deliver was the Toronto Star’s Peter Howell.

Here, Howell points out the amount of women he’s surrounded by in his home life and used that fact as a jumping off point in asking Tom Hardy, “As you were reading the script, did you ever think, ‘Why are all these women in here? I thought this was supposed to be a man’s movie?'”

Aside from the small fact that the cast members never received a script for the film, Hardy quickly shot down the reporter’s question by simply saying:

“No. Not for one minute. I mean, that’s kind of obvious.”

Totally obvious, Tom. Totally.
