An arrest warrant has been issued for Daron Dylan Wint, a 34-year-old Maryland man who has been suspected of a sick quadruple homicide that took place in Washington, D.C. last Wednesday. The family of CEO Savvas Savopoulos and their housekeeper were found dead in their mansion after firefighters responded to a fire at the mansion, which was allegedly set by Wint — but not before he had pizza delivered to the house he terrorized. That was how police were able to track him down… his DNA was on a pizza crust.
It’s a pretty brutal, scary case, and Wint is said to be very dangerous; he might also be in New York City, so now he can scare people all the way up the East Coast. According to police, there is evidence that Wint tortured the Savopoulos family — Savvas, 46, his wife Amy, 47, their 10-year-old son Philip, and their housekeeper Veralicia Figueroa, 57 — before dousing them with gasoline and setting them on fire. Philip was burned “beyond recognition” and was covered in lacerations while the other three showed signs of blunt force trauma. It’s believed that the people responsible — including Wint, allegedly — entered the home without force and intended to extort money from Savopoulos, the CEO of American Iron Works. Savopoulos was apparently talking to his accountant at 7 a.m. the morning after the break-in, and later a package containing $40,000 was brought to the house by an assistant.
And at some point, during all of that horrible criminal activity, someone called Domino’s to have two pizzas delivered. That arrived at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday night.
The Savopoulos’ two teenage daughters were at boarding school while the murders took place.
A suspect wearing a hoodie was caught on a security camera outside the house and a Porsche was stolen from the property and later found burned. That suspect has not been positively identified as Wint.
Wint is said to be in the New York City area, armed and dangerous. According to friends, he’s “hostile” and “arrogant,” as well, so be on the lookout for a huge, frightening murder suspect with pizza crumbs on his face.
