The Starbucks Frappuccino has been a mainstay in the diet of sugar-crazed Americans for twenty years now. To honor this momentous occasion, the coffee making behemoth has come out with six new flavors of the popular drink: Cotton Candy, Caramel Cocoa Cluster, Lemon Bar, Cinnamon Roll, Red Velvet Cake and Cupcake.
The new beverages are being called “Fan Flavors” by the coffee maker. The recipes for these will use existing drinks and ingredients to create the concoctions, so nothing new is really being brought in.
Fans are urged to vote online from June 19 through June 30 for their favorite sugary treat in what the company calls a “Flav-off.” A winner will be announced via social media (of course) on July 3.
While you’re enjoying your tasty new beverage at your favorite coffee house, be sure to get ready to enter a hearty conversation about racial issues in the U.S. with your teenage barista.
