Maybe “hardcore” isn’t the first word that comes to mind when you think about plants, but did you know that plants can explode on touch, turning themselves into deadly projectiles that someone should probably learn how to harness for good and not evil? No? Well, the Smithsonian’s got an entire video of plants exploding all over the place and it’s oddly satisfying to watch.
The reason the plants explode, according to The Smithsonian, is that it’s their way of dispersing their seeds, but at least one of these plant names—violet, touch-me-not, squirting cucumber—sounds like the plant’s weaponizing itself to take over the world. (It’s the squirting cucumber. There’s just pure evil in that name.)
