This Dolphin Decided To Jump Into A Boat And Break A Woman’s Ankles

Father’s Day didn’t pan out so well for the Frickman family. Dirk and Chrissie, who were also celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary, went out from Dana Point Harbor in Orange County, Cali. with their daughters. That’s when their boat ran into a pod of dolphins.

Of course, we’ve all seen enough of Flipper to believe that this situation would end with dolphin tricks, smiling kids and a happy ending. Instead, it looked a lot more like Jaws. That’s because one of the nearly 1,000-lbs. animals launched itself into the boat and broke both of Chrissie’s ankles.

As Dirk later told the local paper, “It’s one of those things where it’s all so beautiful, but you have to remember it’s still kind of wild. From seven years watching them, dolphins have been so precise in their movements, but you just never know.”

Let the countdown begin before the godawful SyFy “based on a true story” film, Jumping Killer Dolphins releases on a cable-ready television set near you.
