This Comedian Is Using Instagram To Mock Celebrity Photos, And The Results Are Wonderful

Meet Celeste Barber, the Australian comedian mocking celebrities one photo at a time. It started innocently enough with a hashtag called #celestechallengeaccepted. Basically, Barber matches up a famous photo with a spoof version of her own. She got off to a slow start but now everyone’s taking notice.

She recently spoke to ABC Australia about her little project:

“People are so obsessed with celebrities and celebrities seem to be so obsessed with portraying everyday people,” Barber told the ABC.

“I thought, right, if this is what everyone does — challenge accepted.”

Barber appears on a show called How Not To Behave in Australia, a 15 part series that “tests the boundaries of a familiar theme providing a “how-to” guide and offering solutions to social shortcomings.” Sounds like a barrel of laughs.

Anyway. Barber has taken dead aim at some of the biggest celebrities, most notably attention whore and selfie queen, Kim Kardashian.

Barber wants people to know that she’s pro-woman and this whole Kim Kardashian thing is all in good fun.

“I’m very pro-woman. I don’t want to be bashing people like Kim K, I actually think ‘good on her’. I think she is a smart business woman,” she said.

“She has a brand and her brand is her arse and it’s a good one.”

Here now are some of Barber’s best pics, including this obnoxiously hilarious one of Serena Williams.
