This viral video, which has gathered up nearly half a million views in less than a day, shows a terrifying near-disaster on Friday evening. A woman and all her fellow drivers on Highway I-275 near Cincinnati are lucky to be alive. Sandra Harris, 43, began swerving wildly as she sped down the highway, and a brave dude named Sam Haynes convinced her to stop the vehicle. That’s the good news. Before this happened, the rolling video footage forecasted an imminent disaster as the woman swerved on and off the highway with seldom more than two wheels touching asphalt.

Harris, a 26-year-old construction worker on the way home from work, found himself right behind the woman as she erratically weaved from highway to grass to highway to grass. According to Cincinnati.com, Harris described his immediate reaction: “I couldn’t believe it. I need to get behind this lady. She’s going to hurt someone.'”

His actions saved lives. Harris waved the woman over to the side of the road, where she behaved in a wholly bizarre manner. She apologized profusely for several minutes and appeared to be under the influence of something. Authorities later said that the woman admitted being under the influence of both heroin and crystal meth. No wonder. Certainly, her speech and gestures indicated that something (besides nearly slamming her car into a divider) was amiss.

The woman was summarily charged with a DUI and a marked lanes violation.
