The poor video quality on this clip may obscure this little gem’s value. A public servant — in this case, a school crossing guard — can’t seem to believe she’s required to do her job. That is, the guard doesn’t understand why she’s expected to keep children safe by assisting them across the street with her trusty sign and a crosswalk. All of this madness, and Patches, the superior crossing guard, was released from his duties. The world just isn’t fair.
Concerned citizens reported this lady guard, who appears utterly befuddled, to a local news station. Without a trace of irony, the woman told a reporter, “I’m not standing out there in the street and stopping traffic. Are you serious?” Bad Crossing Guard could be a character in an Adam Sandler movie. Yes, that’s probably his next project, but this lady beat him to the crash, and the dude laughing at the end makes the video happen.
This woman fully deserves to be relieved of her duties, but there’s something admirable about how a person can give no f*cks at all. Still, this is a bad place to have that attitude. Put this lady in a desk job where giving no f*cks isn’t quite so dangerous.
