Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker dropped out of the GOP presidential race on Monday afternoon. Walker released a statement, which implied how he sacrificed his candidacy to stop Donald Trump from taking office. Granted, he never mentions Trump by name. Walker stated, “Today I feel I am being called to lead by helping to clear the field so that a positive, conservative message can rise to the top of the field.” He’s calling upon other candidates to leave the race as well. Walker hopes this will help voters “focus on a limited number of candidates who can offer a positive conservative alternative to the current front-runner.”

One of Walker’s former political advisers, Liz Mair, doesn’t buy Walker’s explanation. She called Walker out on Twitter, but there’s a catch. Mair is no stranger to Twitter rants, and she only worked for Walker for one day in March. Upon leaving her post, she unleashed a flurry of tweets directed at Walker. Now she’s back for more action:

Mair blames Walker for hiring the wrong people, although she also admits Walker fired her.

Mair continues her rant before hinting that Walker dropped out at precisely the right moment.

So, Walker has his explanation for leaving the race, and Mair says differently. The latest poll data, which hit on Monday morning, provides a third take. Walker fell into deep decline with “less than one-half of 1 percentage point support” from voters.

For the record, Mair is no fan of Trump either.
