This Driver Learned Why You Never Try To Kill A Spider With A Lighter At A Gas Station

There is no limit to just how stupid some people can be when faced with what they feel is a dire decision. Take this gentleman in Michigan who thought that he needed to be rid of a spider that was fiddling around his gas tank at the local station during a fill up. As you can tell from the clip, and from The Guardian quote below, things do not go well, as he most certainly made the wrong decision:

Surveillance footage captures a driver’s panic as he accidentally set a gas station in Center Line, Michigan on fire while trying to get rid of a spider using a cigarette lighter. The video, which was posted on LiveLeak, then shows the driver grab a fire extinguisher and quickly put out the flames. He told authorities he saw a spider on his gas tank as he went to fill up and unwisely decided to try and use a lighter to remove it

So not only does he not have a pissed off spider on his case, there’s also an inferno at the gas station. Very smooth thinking. This is definitely a candidate for a Darwin Award, if that’s still a thing. He’s definitely a candidate for a kick in the ass, especially if the owner of the station is the one doing the kicking. Or let’s let the spider have at him. Let it bring all of its friends to his bedroom.
