Someone Claims They Photographed The Real Jersey Devil, So We Put It To The Test

Thousands have claimed to have encountered The Jersey Devil over the years. Many have likely gotten drunk and found their way into a local goat pen, while others could’ve gotten drunk and rowdy at a New Jersey Devil’s game. Then there’s a few who have witnessed the actual creature, or so they claim, telling their friends and family about it in order to warn the others. That’s what Dave Black is trying to do, only he’s providing something a little extra with his encounter this time around: photographic proof.

Black shared his experience with NJ.com, including the photograph with his description. We’ll lead with his version of the events:

Dave Black of Little Egg Harbor Township was driving home from his security-guard job in Atlantic City when he saw what he thought was a llama running in and out of the trees lining the road.

“I was just driving past the golf course in Galloway on Route 9 and had to shake my head a few times when I thought I saw a llama,” he wrote in his email.

What happened next is the bizarre part.

“If that wasn’t enough, then it spread out leathery wings and flew off over the golf course.”

Sounds like the beast that we see above, right? The leathery wings are what give it away. Compare it with the photograph that Black submitted below:

Oh yeah, that’s just a goat with wings and it’s likely as fake as Dick Cheney’s heart. Thankfully, NJ.com sent out someone to snoop around the alleged birthplace of the Jersey Devil, Leeds Point, and she returned with this video.

Let’s see what the comments think of the authenticity at work here:

Sounds about right. Keep up the devil talk Jersey, it’s funny at the very least.
