This Woman Broke Up A Planned Parenthood Protest By Yelling ‘Yeast Infections’

A Portland woman may have found the perfect solution to combat those in the ring-wing who want to shut down Planned Parenthood: YEAST INFECTIONS. On Sunday, 29-year-old Mary Numair was working a shift at her job at the Purringtons Cat Cafe (new life goals realized), when she noticed a group of anti-abortion protesters beginning to form at the Planned Parenthood a block down the road, including children as young as 10.

When one woman holding a sign that read “ABORTION KILLS CHILDREN” set up camp right outside of her place of business and refused to move, Numair became incensed. As most level-headed people are aware, Planned Parenthood provides a number of low-cost medical services to women, and Numair herself had used the organization’s services many times to clear up chronic yeast infections, after not being able to procure health insurance due to preexisting conditions.

So, she took matters into her own hands: Numair found a piece of cardboard in a dumpster and made her own sign, reading, “Dear P.P. Thanks for helping with my yeast infections,” complete with cartoon hearts, boobs and vaginas. She then marched over to the group.

Offended, Numair asked: “Do you know about yeast infections?”

The adults turned beet red. Numair edged closer. Parents with kids shirked away. Some protesters formed a prayer circle. That’s when Numair burst into her chant:

“YEAST IN-FECTIONS, YEAST IN-FECTIONS.”

Numair called her chant “squeaky and cheerleader like,” but it worked. The group quickly dispersed as cars began to stop and honk in solidarity. Her story has since spread throughout the media and she plans to start a Facebook group to build on the momentum.

Here are a few other photos from Numair’s Twitter feed celebrating her victory over the abortion protesters. She says that if everyone started showing up at abortion protests yelling about yeast infections, she would “die a happy woman.”
