Black Friday’s Fights Prove How People Still Throw Down Over The Most Ridiculous Things

As Black Friday keeps on trucking, videos are piling up to demonstrate that, yes, people will still fight over the most ridiculous things. Although Black Friday isn’t all bad (some people might even take home a pet), the cultural motif dictates that horror stories abound during this inauspicious annual event. Deliciously fake ads help us cope with such frenzies in the name of consumerism. Yet the word “sale” simply sets some people off and will prompt a fight over the drop of a veggie steamer. That’s exactly what happened in Saginaw, Michigan, when a group of people stormed a pile of the minor kitchen appliances.

One woman in this clip seems particularly crazed. She dives into the pile and recovers her footing, only to snatch a veggie steamer out of a child’s hands. The child’s mother then loses it and puts a headlock on the “thief,” who screeches, “Why are you being so oppressive?! You’re scaring me!” Some people believe this video is a fake, but it’s still making the internet rounds.

Also included in this year’s roundup are two separate Kentucky mall fights. The first fight (which does look sketchy) happened at Mall St. Matthews in Louisville. Two men threw down in the middle of a food court.

The second Kentucky scuffle happened in Florence while people yelled, “World Star,” which refers to the hip hop juggernaut that specializes in such fight videos. Oh, so meta.
