Every parent’s worst nightmare when dropping off their kids at school is that they’ll be mistreated by faculty. The worry and fear is multiplied when their child suffers from special needs because, sometimes, heartless faculty members lack the basic patience and understanding to care for a child with special needs. That appears to be the case for a 10-year-old boy with Asperger’s Syndrome who was treated so horribly at school that he had to record his own “Day In The Life Of” video.

A blogger and mother grew tired of her son being mistreated by both students and faculty and is now reaching out to social media for help. On Sunday, the fed-up mom shared her son’s daily ordeal as a 10-year-old with a “thought disorder, ADHD, is autistic and has witnessed domestic abuse” after her letters to the school’s superintendent fell on deaf ears.

“On Friday, my son decided he was fed up with the way he was mistreated by the staff and the students at his school, so he recorded how he is treated with his cell phone,” she writes on Tumblr. “On the recording, I hear my son ignored, yelled at, denied restroom breaks as well as the aide of the nurse, detained in the office and disciplined for a significant amount of time (without the staff ever knowing exactly why he was there or what he did).”

The mother recounts hearing one teacher taunt and mock her son “because he mumbles when he is upset,” and another teacher who didn’t seem too concerned with the 10-year-old’s coughing spell. “I hear my child cough to the point that he nearly vomits, and the teacher doesn’t so much if ask if he’s okay. Shortly after, he is practically jogged across the school yard (and this is after he complained of feeling ill/sick to his stomach) by the very teacher who just mocked and taunted him. The principal is heard saying, ‘Hmmm… Funny how you only remember certain things.'”

Even the assistant principal seemed indifferent, according to the mom, who she accused of telling her son, “I’d believe anyone before I’d believe you.”

In a series of tweets, the protective mom explains how heartbreaking it was to hear “the glee in teachers’ voices” when her son was removed from their class, and how hurtful it was to listen to her son be treated as someone with a behavioral problem instead of special needs. Mom says she heard her son’s words be used to confuse him and his disability used against him.

And the principal is even trying to deny the allegations, but mom has it all on tape.

It sucks beyond words that her son has to deal with both students and faculty being incompetent at best and cruel at worst. Kids are pretty mean, but adults know and should do better.
