A Holly Hill, Florida, man — 21-year-old Christopher Taft — was arrested on battery charges last Sunday for shooting his sister in the ass with a BB gun. I felt like the headline deliberately misled the severity of the incident.
That’s all. It’s an interesting story just….”he shot her” leaving out “with a BB gun” was a bit sensationalistic.

FWIW, I think I did include “BB gun” in the original post, but it was probably edited down for brevity. But I can understand the confusion.

Who called the police? She didn’t want to press charges, yet he was arrested…
@Daniel Felder I assume they went to the ER to remove the BB where a police report had to be filed.
It got embedded in her skin? She might get a nasty infection then. I was told by a Wallyworld security guard that was an old wives tale.

I’ve never really been sure of the piercing capabilities of a BB. Apparently they can go through skin, and presumably at least one layer of fabric, if he shot her in the butt. But can they go through, say, denim? I guess it largely depends on the gun that fires it, huh?
My bother had a pump action BB gun and by over pumping it he was able to get enough power out of it to kill squirrels and rabbits.
