A Full Back Tattoo Tribute To The Titanic? Why Not?!

While most sorority girls and/or strippers would have settled for a butterfly, random stars, or Chinese letters that translate to “I hate my father,” Steve Hide had something a little different in mind when he went to get his newest tattoo. The Englishman, who shares his name with Danny Masterson’s only claim to fame, decided to spend about $12,000 to have a tribute to the sinking of the Titanic plastered across his back like one giant stained flesh reminder that James Cameron is a gazillionaire.
Adorned with white doves soaring over the horrific wreckage, Hide’s ink includes the phrase “Nearer My God to Thee,” which is the name of the song that the band played as the boat sank around them. The tattoo also features a portrait of the ship’s master, Edward Smith. I guess that’s a little better than my tattoo of Joseph Hazelwood and the Exxon Valdez.
Full details of Hide’s ridiculous back art after the jump.
