Ace Hood Feat. T-Pain – “King Of The Streets” Video

Some time ago, a video surfaced with Khaled and Ace Hood in the studio previewing a T-Pain assisted-song which would later end up on the former’s new album Blood, Sweat & Tears. From what I could hear, the record seemed promising and one I hoped would get some push behind it once the time came. Well, fast forward a few months and the time is now. “King Of The Streets” is Ace’s proclamation to the world–one I don’t necessarily agree with–that regardless of preconceived notions about him or his music, he’s going to win whether you get behind him or not. Khaled’s understudy does his best to drive that point home with his own lyrics and a serious, yet boastful hook from the man who commanded summers with nothing but hit songs laced with Auto-Tune.

Switching gears for a moment, Def Jam’s decision to release Ace Hood’s Blood, Sweat & Tears the same week as Watch The Throne just seems like a slap in the face. Are people really going to pick up Ace’s record simply because he’s on the same label as Kanye and Jay’s project, given a time when record sales are already hard enough to come buy and the economy is the way it is?

Or am I looking way too far into this?
