While watching Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, I happened to notice that Amy Poehler and Nick Kroll, who have been together for over two years, did not seem to attend together. As it turns out, there was a very logical and reasonable explanation for this. That explanation is that Poehler and Kroll have broken up, because LOVE IS DEAD, AGAIN.
“Unfortunately, they just couldn’t make the relationship work with their schedules,” says one insider close to the Parks and Recreation actress, 44, and the Kroll Show star, 37.
“They really tried, but it just wasn’t realistic anymore,” adds the source. “They were spending more time apart than together.”
On one hand, I understand that it’s kind of silly to get invested in the romantic lives of two people you don’t even know. On the other hand, we all just want Amy Poehler to be happy, dammit. Which is not to say a woman can’t be happy without a man. But after seven seasons of watching her character on Parks and Recreation eventually finding her soulmate in arguably the most beautiful sitcom love story ever, I think it’s only natural to want the same for Ms. Poehler herself.
