We’ve all had some unique experiences with Uber, some clearly worse than others and sometimes using the car share service is downright frightening, but a lesbian couple in Australia had no clue what they were getting into when their Uber driver went on an extensive homophobic rant that included everything from why football players are f*gg*ts who like touching men to calling his own passengers f*gg*ts and physically threatening the couple in his car.

Lucy Thomas, who is actually the CEO of an anti-bullying nonprofit called Project Rockit stayed calmed through the entire recorded ordeal while her Uber driver made countless homophobic remarks. The Uber driver named John says in the recording,

“What, are you going to give me a one [star] rating and make a complaint? And when I write my report about two f*gg*ts who don’t like being called f*gg*ts, then what are they going to say?”

Although Thomas sounds very calm on tape, she described the situation as “scary” to the Sydney Morning Heraldespecially when John threatened the couple with force by saying,

“I will get out and drag you out, I will drag you out of the Uber because I asked you to get out, and you’re not getting out.”

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Uber driver in question has been fired, because he violated company policy regarding abusive language and discrimination.
