Want To Know The Plot Of The Next Two ‘Avengers’ Movies?

Spoilers abound. You have been warned.

Making the rounds over the past 24 hours is a Latino Review article outlining crucial plot points of both the Avengers 2 and 3. While Avengers 2 is a lock to be about the Infinity Gauntlet and Thanos based on the Easter egg at the end of the first movie, the sequel will reportedly end with the Hulk going into outer space to lead to the World War Hulk storyline.

Per the Review, the follow-ups to last summer’s smash will ultimately revolve around the “Planet Hulk” and “World War Hulk” story arcs, which were well-recieved when they circulated in the mid-2000’s and feature the iconic superhero being transported to a far-away planet and chaneling his inner Maximus. Then he returns to Earth pissed off and ready to destroy the planet with his army of interplanetary followers by his side. The arc of him going to space would probably take place in the third Hulk movie while the third Avengers flick would feature Hulk’s return.

This also could mean we’ll see the Marvel movie version of the Illuminati, pulling strings behind the scenes as well as Dr. Strange and Ant-Man flicks. Given how well-received Mark Ruffalo and his CGI counterpart were, making the green giant a more essential – and sinister – agent to the Avengers story arc makes sense. Still, for those in the know – or those who know how to run a Google search – “World War Hulk” is one of Marvel’s darker stories, a far cry from the good-guys-always-win nature of the original Avengers. If Iron Man 3‘s previews are any indication, the film franchises seem to be skewing darker in preparation. If Marvel thinks that they can pull this off on a grand scale, more power to them.
