The Actual Advice Mallard has been around for awhile, but it wasn’t until this weekend that the meme blew up on Reddit’s AdviceAnimals with about 500 new image macros added in just 24 hours. The meme features a duck dispensing advice of the sort which could be found on Reddit’s LifeProTips.

Occasionally the Actual Advice Mallard will be used to make Arrested Development references (as the one above) or to troll with bad advice about putting icy hot on genitals, hitting Alt + F4, and mixing bleach with ammonia as an acne treatment. As with all things on the internet, never blindly follow the advice of a duck or any other type of creature. Especially if they tell you to delete System32.

Our 35 favorite examples of helpful hints from this discerning duck are collected below. All pictures courtesy of Quickmeme. Thanks to Gonten for the assist.

Okay, now we’re done with the Arrested Development references. On to the advice.

This may or may not be related to the previous slide.

An excellent idea.

An even more excellent idea.

That seems legit.

When not writing for Uproxx, Caleb likes to volunteer at the legless cat shelter and photoshop the Babadook into all of his family photos. He once resolved the question “To be or not to be?” through the clever use of General Semantics. Your mom thinks you could be more like him if you only applied yourself.
