They like Krizzle what’chu gonna say when all the cameras in your face
About the ‘Sip and David Banner and what it means to take his place
(Take a stand) do all that I can and take it off the block
Misinterpret what it say (now they think I’m taking shots)
On the low gave a n*gga hope, that’s just what it is
I don’t need a nigga vouching for me, that’s just how I feel
Never had (never ever been) and I never will

Big K.R.I.T.’s classic mixtape K.R.I.T. Wuz Here – and, yes, after three (four in May!) years, it can be deemed a classic – had so many songs that encapsulated very specific emotions perfectly. “Viktorious” is as defiant a track as you’ll ever hear in the genre; the kind of scowling, back-against-the-wall, me-against-the-world mentality that works perfectly if you’re in the need for a firm kick in the butt.

But more than the ra-ra juju, the mixtape’s second-to-last track offers some interesting insight on the relationship Krizzle has with his would-be mentor, David Banner. Because, let’s be real: we’re into this crazy genre for the behind-the-scenes stories as much as any other reason. And from the jump, K.R.I.T. has had a pretty great story to tell.
