Black Milk – “Perfected On Puritan Ave”

“Don’t realize you from a ghetto till you get a little older”

Black Milk may not live in the D anymore but he takes a trip back there on “Perfected On Puritan Ave.” Black opens up the track by reminiscing on backyard hoop dreams from childhood, describing the figures on his block and summer nights spent carefree.

Then, there’s a beat flip…then another that comes behind it. “Puritan…” becomes a exhilarating roller-coaster ride. And when it ends, that’s when you realize that the Milk man isn’t just a MC, he’s a producer and an artist using all the tools at his disposal to craft his final product.

From Black’s forthcoming album No Poison No Paradise out October 15th via Fat Beats/Computer Ugly.
