The Blue Angels stunt flying team has been tearing up the skies for almost 70 years. The amazing precision and control the pilots fly with makes their performances a must-see for any aviation nut. A staple of most Angels shows is a low-pass, where a pilot flies one of the fighter jets a few hundred feet above the crowd. Recently, spectators at an air show in Florida got an up-close look at one of these maneuvers.
In the clip, a crowd is seen watching the Angels during the Pensacola Beach Air Show, which takes place in the skies directly over the shore of Pensacola Beach, Fla. The person filming catches a plane doing a low-pass over the crowd, much to everyone’s delight. Within seconds of the fly-by, though, the wake turbulence from the jet causes umbrellas, tents, and anything else not tied down to fly into the air. The people in the shot seem to be pretty stoked about what they just saw, especially the bro double-fisting some beers.
If you haven’t caught one of these shows, it’s definitely worth the price of admission. Just make sure you hold on tight to your belongings.
