Boldy James – “Long Run/Optional” Video

While other dealers-turned-MCs flaunt their money and brag about pushing product, Boldy James comes from a place much more subdued. With a laid-back flow that borders on lazy and a glassy, pensive gaze, the Detroit native drops a joint video for “Long Run” and “Optional,” two tracks from last year’s Trapper’s Alley mixtape. “I deal drugs, ’cause the money come much quicker/but I never wanted to be a drug dealer,” he raps, giving an honest spin to a genre known for being loud and ignorant.

James’ next project, Consignment: Favor for A Favor, is set for a February 27th release. Those who enjoy their trap rap insightful and reflective, take note.
