A boy who was born in India two years ago recently underwent surgery to correct his diphallia, the condition of being born with more than one penis — a subject near and dear to the internet thanks to the man known as Diphallic Dude who went viral early last year. However, unlike Diphallic Dude, the young boy in question (whose identity is being kept anonymous for obvious reasons) was born with only one penis that could pass urine and two with erectile functionality, while the third was just purely for decoration.

Oh, and because this kid didn’t already have enough odds stacked against him, he was also born without an anus.

As a result, Mumbai Pediatric surgeon Dr. Vishesh Dixit was charged not just with the task of correcting the diphallia, which describes as “a huge soft boney mass and tissue to which the penises were attached,” but also had to create an anal path. Previous to the surgery the boy had a procedure done which let his fecal matter pass through a tube in his stomach.

Poor kid. DNA India spoke with Dr. Dixit about the surgery:

The family got the boy to Mumbai for surgery after understanding that a complex procedure of removal of penises was not possible in UP. In a surgery that lasted for six hours, doctors at Sion hospital extracted the soft boney mass as well as the rudimentary penis. “The two functional penises were fused into one, by wrapping a mass of skin around them. Further, an anal path was created through the boy’s rectum to facilitate the passage of excreta,” said Dixit.

Seems a little over complicated to make one super penis instead of just removing the two that didn’t fully function, but I guess that’s why I’m not a doctor. The boy is expected to reach adulthood with normal sexual function and should have no problem having children of his own.
