Bucs Disappointed In Mike Williams For Irresponsibly Allowing Himself To Be Stabbed

When I was a kid, it was always worse for me when my parents told me they were disappointed in something I did than if they punished me. I felt bad, like I had really done something wrong, and worked to fix it. Hopefully, by taking the same tack with Mike Williams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have discouraged the receiver from ever taking actions that would harm the team, actions like allowing himself to be stabbed in the thigh, allegedly by his brother. Bucs Nation has the story, including a blurb from Bucs GM Jason Licht, who did mention flippantly that Williams seems “physically okay”.

The important thing in all of this, obviously, is how the stabbing of a man by his brother affects the guarantees on his contract, so expect a lot of bitching from Bucs head office folks when Williams attempts to hold the team to his guarantees if his play ends up suffering. Perhaps this could all have been avoided if Schiano had never left. A Schiano man always stabs first.
