The Cast Of The Hobbit Gives ‘The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins’ The Dramatic Treatment It Deserves

Forget the Star Trek stuff, Leonard Nimoy’s most lasting legacy is going to be The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins. Well, okay, maybe that’s not true, but Nimoy’s ridiculous, swingin’ 60s Hobbit-themed tune is pretty wonderful. What, you’ve never heard it? Well, let’s rectify that immediately…

Okay, now that you’ve watched that ten times, here’s the cast of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit movies doing a dramatic reading of the song’s lyrics. They’ve already adapated every other scrap of Middle Earth lore, why not this?

I’m not sure why Benedict Cumberbatch decided to do his part in an old man’s voice (I guess that was supposed to be his Smaug?) but I’m glad he did.
