Celebrate YouTube’s 10-Year Anniversary By Watching The First Video Ever Posted

No, it’s not as thrilling as the GoPro videos that punctuate the boredom of a slow work day, but this short clip of a young man describing the length of an elephant’s trunk was seen more than 19 million times, mostly because there wasn’t much else to watch in the infancy of the internet’s greatest invention: YouTube. Today marks the 10th anniversary of the wonderful website that acts as one of the most popular search engines, as well as a tool to find obscure, silly, funny, and ridiculously cute videos to help ease the pain of another day.

But let’s not forget just how educational YouTube can be, as well. For instance, I learned the ins and outs of my music production software through many YT vids. This is all meant to say that YouTube is one of the greatest inventions of all-time. A bit of an embellishment? Perhaps… but I firmly believe it, no matter what Jerry Seinfeld thinks.
