Easily one of the most compelling collaborations happening in music today, the combination of Chance The Rapper and James Blake has already given fans something to get excited about in their “Life Round Here” track which dropped last fall and preluded reports the two would be living and working together in Los Angeles throughout the winter months.

Today, a new version of the remixed track from Blake’s Overgrown hit the Internet. The original version of the song, renamed “Save Yourself First,” features heavy production from Chance’s production team The Social Experiment (#SOX) and lends itself to a more ethereal, organic sound that offers a glimpse into another interpretation of the song.

Chano sings over the crafty keys of touring Music Director Peter CottonTale who’s careful, soulful sound has become a mainstay within the Chicago scene. “Instead of fully re-arranging what James had already done, I was trying to accent his production with my piano with some help on the arrangement from Chance actually,” said CottonTale.

Fellow Chicagoan and close friend, Stefan Ponce, who’s currently out on the road as part of Childish Gambino’s Deep Web Tour also debuted some new content from Chance while in Kansas City, teasing Chance’s collaboration with fellow Chicagoan Jeremih alongside a new one from Childish and Trinidad Jame$.
