The Internet’s Best Reactions To Chip Kelly’s Shocking Release From The Eagles

Chip Kelly was fired as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles Tuesday evening, a move many predicted for some time (though the question of whether Kelly the GM fired Kelly the coach is unknown at this time). Still, it’s a major move considering the organization gave Kelly full control of personnel decisions but a year ago. Nevertheless, it should be noted that Kelly’s moves were largely considered failures.

Where Kelly, who was 26-21 in just under three full seasons, goes from here remains to be seen. The college ranks are full (for now), and now that Kelly has tasted complete control, it’s entirely possible he doesn’t want to give up on the pros just yet (looking at you, Tennessee). After all, he did win 10 games in each of his first two seasons. In any case, the internet did what it always does when major sports news breaks: it reacted in the best, most lighthearted way possible.
