I don’t know if you’ve heard by now, but Chris Pratt is a pretty big deal these days. So much so that InStyle magazine named the former Parks and Recreation star September’s “Man of Style” for their issue that just hit newsstands, a very prestigious honor in tandem with the premiere of The Magnificent Seven next month. Of course, the ironic thing here is that for a big name movie star, Pratt is an extremely down to earth guy who in no way sees himself as a style icon. I mean, most of the photos in the guy’s Instagram account are of him like, fishing. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that!)

But Pratt also loves to poke fun of himself, which is why he uploaded some of his super serious InStyle photos from the shoot to provide some insight as to what was really going on in these photos and in his head while they were being taken. Starting out, Pratt reveals that contrary to popular thought, he actually had nothing to even do with picking out the outfits for the spread, and he even hinted at some possible behind-the-scenes drama with a real diva of a horse.

Next up, Pratt demonstrates how one flawlessly models the “denim on denim” look.

Always a professional, Pratt makes it look easy, even when he’s sweating profusely and the jeans are too dang tight.

Finally, he was able to prove that he did indeed take photos with a horse, and was even able to give a creative touch of his own to the shoot!

He had us at “I put that hat on the horse’s head.”
