If anyone was going to “cheer” the demise of Occupy Wall Street, it was going to be Stephen Colbert, who famously visited Zucotti Park a couple of weeks ago disguised as Che Guevara. And to those who decry the massive raid on the park foretold by Questlove as an infringement to free speech, Colbert has this to say: “The founders never intended indefinite free speech; they assumed that, after two weeks, any protest would be wiped out by smallpox.”

Words of wisdom.
