First, Bill Cosby got figuratively knocked off his pedestal after numerous sexual-assault allegations and now it’s literally happening at Disney World. According to WESH in Orlando, a bronze bust of Cosby was removed last night from Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios theme park.

Unfortunately, Disney removed Cosby’s statue under cover of night after the park closed, so we don’t have any film or pictures of what that moment looked like, but this GIF of a completely random statue getting removed from its previous perch should give you some vague idea of what that general act can sometimes look like. Random.

The turmoil surrounding Cosby hasn’t let up since Hannibal Buress called him a rapist on stage last October, and it only intensified July 6, when new information was released regarding his possible intent to drug women in order to have sex with them. In addition to any heat Disney felt because of the latest development and the parade of allegations, there is also a petition in place to remove the bust that was started by Brittany Gavrilova, whose aunt is one of the alleged victims. So it’s not like Disney suffered from a dearth of reasons why they should banish Cosby’s visage. As for why the bust was there in the first place, apparently it was to celebrate his achievements in TV and not to honor his role in Ghost Dad, which is a surprise to this reporter.
