Doughboyz Ca$hout Ft. Young Jeezy – “Mob Life”

Without much knowledge on Detroit’s Doughboyz Ca$hout, I quickly turned to the Crew’s resident D-Town Hip-Hop aficionado, Beware. Come to find out, they’ve been one of the biggest acts from the city not named Big Sean for the better part of three years. Having caught the eye of Young Jeezy – who, remember, is giving this A&R thing a whirl again – and his CTE imprint, the group snags the Snowman for “Mob Life.”

Maybe he’s been doing this and I’ve failed to take notice, but ever since Young’s gone back to his OG ad-libs, the music feels to have taken a turn for the better. Here, the bossman kicks things off delivering a worthy feature – the “Kenny Lofton” verse was his best moment in a minute for what it’s worth – while the rest of DBCO never stray too far from the hook’s commandments.

I’d imagine this receives its fair share of spins in Detroit strip clubs.

Side-note: While not exactly Jay handing Kanye the R.O.C. chain on stage over a decade ago, here’s the footage of Jeezy announcing the news to Detroit live on the radio.
