Chuck Palahniuk, the morbid author of Invisible Monsters, Choke, and Fight Club, has been writing since the early 1990s. His core fanbase is getting older, and maybe not as interested in reading about men having sex with their pool filters while slapping dog food on their chest, or whatever happened in “Guts.” That’s why he wrote Fight Club 4 Kids, which tackles the deterioration of the fragile human mind but in a way Lil’ Timmy and Lil’ Tammy can understand. Might as well prepare them for the crushing mediocrity of life, and Meatloaf’s boobs, now.
