‘Five Nights At Freddy’s 3’ Is Out Without Warning And Terrifying Gamers Everywhere

Five Nights at Freddy’s has been out since August. It’s seven months later, and there are already two sequels. Yep, Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 popped up unexpectedly on Steam to scare the hell out of players.

As is traditional, if “tradition” can be used here, there are some tweaks to the gameplay. First of all, there’s just one animatronic, and it’s still trying to sneak up on your and kill you, this time in a museum dedicated to the murders of the last two games. But despite being a one-on-one game, it’s not any easier. You now have audio you can play back during the game, and you’ll need to reboot the system occasionally to keep it up and running. Not helping matters is the rather static-heavy reception you’re getting through the cameras, which are the vintage originals and thus not in good shape.

Needless to say, playthroughs are already being posted for our amusement. And overall, it looks like enough of a twist on the formula that it’s worth the eight bucks. Besides, it promises to fill in a few blanks in the series’ shadowy backstory, which has been the subject of some debate ever since the first game came out. It is, of course, on Steam.
